There have been several talks about the MLS instituting a relegation policy, such as several other leagues around the world enforce. The relegation policy is different in the leagues around the world. An example of it is in the EPL. The bottom three teams would be relegated to the championship league. This is the league below the EPL. The Top 3 teams of the Championship league would then be promoted to the EPL. This change happens every season.
After the MLS executive meet on April 20, 2011, they decided that Major League Soccer has no intention to institute promotion and relegation and will not eliminate conferences to match other leagues in the world.
MLS expanded to 18 teams this year with the addition of Portland and Vancouver, and Montreal will join in 2012. The President of the MLS, Mark Abbott said as the league gets bigger, it may not keep a balanced schedule. Because of its desire to promote regional rivalries, MLS is not interested in the so-called "single table" schedule used by other countries.
I feel that this is the best case for the MLS as of know. The first step in moving towards the single table would be to implement more teams.

Game 7 Sabres vs. Flyers
Tonight is the most important game of the year for both the Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers. It’s the famous game 7, and both teams must have the "win or go home" mentality. Each team must come prepared tonight to play their best hockey, as it is going to be a tight defensive game.
Overall this series has been evenly matched with both teams losing at home, two out of three games. The games have either been exciting high scoring thrillers, such as Sundays (Easter) game when the Flyers won it in overtime 5-4. That game was heart breaking for me as I am a diehard Sabres fan. The sabres blew a 3-1 lead and ended up losing 5-4 in OT.
Hopefully tonight’s game will be spectacular show of hockey. Hopefully the Sabres can take this series and keep moving on the road to the cup. LET’S GO BUFFALO!

Penguins lead series 1-0
The Pittsburgh Penguins started of the playoffs in the right direction win a 3-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Fleury played and amazing game and made 32 saves for the shut out -- including a stop on Ryan Malone with his back to the play -- to stymie a Lightning team that finished second in the Eastern Conference with 247 goals. Alexei Kovalev and Arron Asham scored third-period goals 18 seconds apart to help the Penguins win the first playoff game in their new arena. Overall the game was hard hitting and seemed to be a close game until the third period. At first i thought it was going to be a long series but, if the penguins keep playing the way they did, it might only take 4 or 5 games.Kobe fined $100,000 for gay slur
Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers was fined $100,000 today for a homophobic slur that he made during Tuesday nights game against the San Antonio Spurs. It appeared that Kobe made the gesture when he made it to the bench after he didn’t like a questionable call that was made by the referee. You could tell Kobe was upset as he punched his chair and threw his towel, it was then he made the gay slur. After Kobe was suspended by the commissioner David Stern, he made an apologetic statement say that “What I said last night should not be taken literally"...My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone"
I believe that Kobe is telling the truth. I know what it is like to be upset sometimes it is hard to hold in your actions and thoughts. Even though I know where he is coming from, I do agree with the fine that was offered because it sets and example to other players that that kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

Heat secure the #2 seed
The NBA playoffs are closely approaching and the Miami heat secured the number two seed in the eastern Conference last night with a win over the Atlanta Hawks. It was a tough game but the Heat held off to win 98-90, thanks to a pair of 3 points late in the game by James Jones and Lebron James 34 points. Miami played its starters all the way, looking to clinch the second spot behind Chicago in the East. Shortly after beating the Hawks, the Heat got the news they wanted: third-place Boston lost at Washington in overtime. Once the playoffs start it’s a whole new season and I can't wait to see how far this "dream team", the Miami Heat can go in the Playoffs.

Sabres make the Playoffs!
The sabres are playing the best hockey of the season and I hope they can take it into the playoffs. They have had a big turn around ever since they had a new owner, Terry Pegula. The sabres are projected to beat the Flyers in the first round, all they have to do is have good goaltending and play as a team, with heavy for checking. I really hope the sabres make it far in the playoffs; I maybe even have a chance at the Stanley Cup.

Tootenham advances to the quaterfinals
The Tottenham Hotspurs are having one of their best years since 1961, which was the last time that they were in the Champions League. This year they have reached the quarterfinals of the champion’s league which is something they have never done before.
Most of the play was in the spurs end as AC Milan was pressuring hard to get at least one goal to tie up the aggregate. Gallas made a magnificent goal line save in the 78th min to seal the victory for the spurs."It's a huge night for us," said Tottenham forward Peter Crouch, who scored in the first leg. "We defended magnificently. We had to dig in and defend from the front, and I think we deserved it over the two
legs."
The Hotspurs held on for a 0-0 draw with AC Milan to make it to the quarterfinals on aggregate. The previous match was play at home for AC Milan where tottenham took the game with a 1-0 victory. Peter Crouch scored the winning goal.
The spurs are scheduled to play Valencia in the quarterfinals.

Anthony to the Knicks
There have been trade rumors about Carmello Anthony's future home for the last four weeks. finally a move has been made. The Knicks agreed to a trade with the Denver Nuggets for Anthony on Monday night, which also included the Minessota Timberwolves. The finalized agree happened today after Carmello signed a three year extension for $65 million.
As a part of the deal, the Knicks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash, the sources said. Along with Anthony, New York would get Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Anthony Car and Renaldo Balkman from Denver
This deal will make the Knicks one of the top teams in the NBA with thier new one-two punch of Camrello and Stoudermire. When you throw Chauncey Billiups in there it adds a great third player. The Knicks currently have a record of 28-26. They will obviously be better but it just might take a few games, just like what happened to the Miami Heat.

Rodgers leads Green Bay to Super Bowl Victory

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburg Steelers
31-25, to win Super Bowl XLv. This was the Packers first Super Bowl Championship since Brett Favre was quarterback and won it back in 1997, (Super Bowl XXXI).
Aaron Rodger's had one of the best performances of any quarterback in Super Bowl History. Rodgers threw for 304 yards while completing 24 of 39 passes and three (3) touchdowns.
Along with winning the Super Bowl, Rodger's was also named the games MVP, an award that Brett Favre never received. This is one of Rodgers most notable accomplishments, and one that he very much deserved.
This Super Bowl was a great one and a great end to a wonderful season of football. Now all we have to do is hope that there will be another season next year.

The Ipad can do Anything!
Today’s newest technology is Apples latest creation of the Ipad. The Ipad is limitless on what it can do. Its build is excellent with an aluminum back and a 9 inch LCD screen, which is breath taking when you first look at it. What makes it remarkable is how lite and portable it is only weighing 1.5lbs. The Ipad brought a new revolution of apps as now you can literally have an app for everything you want. Last year CBS had an app available for the March Madness as you could watch live games right on your Ipad or smart phone. Along with this there are apps for facebook, ESPN, USA Today, and thousands of other news and sports information providers.
The Ipad is worth every penny you pay for it, as I have bought one for myself. I love every aspect of the Ipad, from the fact that I can check my favorite teams scores, and read the daily newspaper instantly with the touch of a finger.

Brady Wins 2010 Offensive POY

Tom Brady is notably the best quarterback in the NFL, and for the second time in four seasons he has won the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year award. He received 21 votes beating out the next closest, who was Michael Vick with 11 votes.
Brady had one of his best seasons in his career leading the New England Patriots to a league best, 14-2 record. He also had an unbelievable sting of 355 passes without being intercepted. Along with this Brady threw for 36 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions.
Tom Brady last won this award back in 2007 when he threw for 50 Touchdown passes and lead New England to an undefeated regular season.
Ironically when Brady had arguably his best two season of his career, the Patriots didn't win a championship.

Torres sings with Chelsea
On the last day of the transfer market, Chelsea made one of the biggest moves by signing the star striker Fernando Torres from Liverpool. This deal is reported to be worth £50 million, which would make it the largest transfer in Britain’s history. The contract is said to be five-and-a-half years which puts him as one of the highest paid players for Chelsea.
Torres signed with Liverpool back in 2007 with a move from Athletico Madrid. Torres' career in England started off with a bang as he became the most prolific goal scorer in a debut season by beating the previous record of goals scored of 23. It has seemed that it was a great signing by Liverpool, but as the seasons passed by, Torres seemed to have disappeared. He ended his Liverpool career with 65 goals in three years and has failed to win a trophy with the club.
I believe this signing is a risk for Chelsea as Torres' play has been below average. He has been hurt most of the past year and barely played in last years Worl Cup. His goal scoring has also dramatically decreased as he only has scored 9 goals for Liverpool this season so far. With this move to Chelsea he may not even start with top strikers as Drogba and Anelka. To me that would make Torres the third striker on the depth chart. Who knows how much he would even get on the pitch.
On the positive side for Chelsea he is a big name player on a great club. Maybe with this said he can do some football magic.
